The flag of Goyave (photo) is white with the municipal coat of arms.

The "scroll" beneath the shield is made of guava leaves and fruits. Goyave is named for guavas (Psidium guajava L.) that grow profusely along Petite Rivière à Goyaves (Guavas' Small River), the watercourse that crosses the municipal territory.
In 2016 and 2017, guava was grown in Guadeloupe on 10 ha, for a total production of 125 t fruit.

Banana is the main local source of income. In 2016, Guadeloupe exported more than 66,000 t bananas; the grower's association Les Producteurs de Guadeloupe expects to increase production up to 100,000 t in 2020.
