Presentation of El Milano

The municipality of El Milano (134 inhabitants in 2009; 2,266 ha) is located in the northwest of Salamanca Province, 80 km from Salamanca.

Symbols of El Milano

The flag and arms of El Milano, designed by Vicente Tocino Letrado and Tomás Rodríguez Peñas, are prescribed by a Decree adopted on 26 September 2007 by the Municipal Council, signed on 1 October 2007 by the Mayor, and published on 16 October 2007 in the official gazette of Castilla y León, No. 201, p. 19,470 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:

Flag: Rectangular flag with proportions 2:3, made of two equal vertical stripes, white with a kite's head at hoist and yellow at fly.
Coat of arms: Per fess 1. Argent a kite [milano] volant sable, 2. Or two oak leaves vert per saltire. The shield surmounted by a Royal crown closed.
