The municipality of Navarredonda de Gredos (485 inhabitants in 2010; 7,881 ha; unofficial website) is located in the southwest of Ávila Province.

Symbols of Navarredonda de Gredos

The flag and arms of Navarredonda de Gredos are prescribed by a Decree adopted on 19 May 1999 by the Municipal Council, signed on 22 June 1999 by the Mayor and published on 30 July 1999 in the official gazette of Castilla y León, No. 146, p. 7,866 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:

Flag: Quadrangular flag, with proportions 1:1, crimson. In the middle of the flag is placed the municipal coat of arms in full colors.
Coat of arms: Shield in Spanish shape. Argent chapé gules a goat's head animated gules in base a river wavy azure and argent, a bordure compony argent and azure. The shield surmounted with a Royal Spanish crown.

The municipal symbols were designed by the "Gran Duque de Alba" Institute, commissioned by the municipality on 25 March 1999. They were officially unveiled on 23 October 1999.
The mountain goat is the emblem of the Sierra de Gredos range. The bordure of the coat of arms comes from the arms of the Dukes of Alba, once lords of Navarredonda (unofficial website).
