F. Schichau

The company was based in Elbing, (East Prussia)
The flag is not totally clear, though. It's a white flag with two red horizontal stripes, containing in between an oval in the center, horizontally divided in two halves, in centre the coat of arms seems to be that of Elbing, nowadays called Elblag, inside a yellow disc - the red stripes do not touch the flag's edges however. Siding the disc, the company's initials appear in seriffed black capitals, "F". to the left (hoist side in the verse, but probably to the fly side on the reverse) and "S". to the right.

F. Schichau - variant 2

Like variant 1 above, but in upper half a red cross patty and in the lower half a white disc, strangely the dot afetr the "S" is voided.

F. Schichau - doubtful variant

[F. Schichau] image by Jorge Candeias, 15 Dec 2004

The flag is not totally clear, though. It's another broad spanish fess of red and white, containing an oval in the center, horizontally divided in two halves, the top one white and the bottom one black. Siding the oval, the company's initials appear in seriffed black capitals, "F". to the left (hoist side in the verse, but probably to the fly side on the reverse) and "S". to the right. The doubts appear in what's inside the oval. In the black, the charge seems to be a white disc, but that's not certain, and it's even less certain the charge of the white part, that to me looks like the outline of a tree.
