Waldershof Coat of Arms

Shield Argent an embattled wall issuant Gules masoned Sable, issuant from its top edge three firs Vert.
Meaning:
The first local seal was granted by the Cistercian Waldsassen Monastery in 1463, together with certain privileges of a city. The seal basically displayed the current pattern, which is considered to be canting, with a circumscription "der von Waltershof", but with deciduous trees. An image from 1585 showed the same pattern. In the 19th century the embattlements usually had been misinterpreted as plant pots. Around 1950 the embattlements were restored but the deciduous trees were replaced by firs.

The banner, probably a plain bicolour, was approved in 1952 by Minister of Interior of Bayern. The arms were granted in 1483 by Abbot Nikolaus IV of Waldsassen and confirmed in 1952 by Minister of Interior of Bayern.
