Gleiritsch Coat of Arms

Shield Argent above a fleur-de-lis Azure, beneath two mattocks Gules in saltire, mantle Gules.
Meaning:
The fleur-de-lis is symbolising the Regensburg branch of the Benedictine St. Emmeram Imperial Abbey. The village belonged to the estates of the monastery at least since 1031. The mantle is reminding on the Lords of Plassenberg, who owned the local district (Bavarian: Hofmark) from the middle of the 16th century until the middle of the 17th century. The mattocks are a differentiation and taken from the arms of the Counts of Kreuth. As the name is derived from Reuth (= forest clearance), the mattocks are canting elements. The counts owned Gleiritsch Manor since 1688 until the early 20th century.
