Mariaposching Coat of Arms

Shield Azure, issuant from base a triplemount Argent, shifted to dexter a facetted 6-point star of the same, in chief a bend of the same charged with an arrow Sable.
Meaning:
The tinctures silver and blue are those of the Wittelsbach kin, rulers of the village and biggest manorial lords. The triplemount is taken from the arms of the Benedictine Niederaltaich Monastery and is symbolising the close relationships between village and abbey. The church of (Maria-)Posching had been donated to the monastery by Duke Odilo of Bayern in the 8th century. The star is an attribute of St. Mary, local patron saint and name giver of the village. The black arrow is representing the owners of the Loham district (Bavarian: Hofmark) and is originally taken from the family arms of the Schrenck-Notzing kin, owners of the district between 1673 and 1729.
