Aufhausen Coat of Arms

Shield Gules a bend Argent charged with three fleur-de-lis Azure, on sinister chief an imperial crown Or.
Meaning:
The arms are based on those of the Bishopric of Regensburg displaying a white bend on a red shield. Aufhausen had been a district (Bavarian: Hofmark) of the Chapter of Regensburg until the beginning of the 19th century. The bend is also interpreted as a symbol of the important historical road for cattle trecks. The fleur-de-lis are taken from the arms of the Imperial St- Emmeram Abbey in Regensburg, which owned local estates. They are also alluding to the local pilgrimage dedicated to Our Lady of the Snows. The imperial crown is alluding to Emperor Otto I, whose inter winter encampment had been in Aufhausen in 953. Aufhausen had furthermore been seat of a royal estate in the 9th and 10th century.
