Salz Coat of Arms

Shield Argent parted by a fess Azure, above a royal coronet Gules, beneath parted by a fess indented Sable.
Salz was first mentioned in 790 as a royal palace (German: Pfalz). The name was given due to the local mineral springs in centre of the royal estate, represented by the coronet. The fess indented is taken from the arms of the Voit of Salzburg family, who had been reeves of the Bishopric of Würzburg since 1000. The blue fess wavy is representing the mineral springs.
