Meaning:
The arms display the arms of the former independent municipalities of Kappel and Grafenhausen without any changes. Both were based on local seals from 1617 (Kappel) and 1650 (Grafenhausen). Fish and oars are alluding to the location of Kappel on the banks of Rhine and Elz. The meaning of the angel representing Grafenhausen is completely unknown.
