Kirchdorf Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale; at dexter Or a lion rampant Sable crowned of the same; at sinister Azure a sword Argent in bend sinister, and above right a heraldic rose Argent, barbed and seeded Or.
Meaning:
The lion is the heraldic animal of the Counts of Perusa, who had great influence in the local district (Bavarian: Hofmark) as manorial lords and owners of the low level cognisance until 1785. The sword is an attribute of St. Paul and is referring to the donation of estates in Kirchdorf to the Benedictine St. Paul of the Cross Nunnery in Regensburg by Bishop Otto of Regensburg in the 11th century. The white rose is an attribute of St. Elisabeth of Thüringen, the local patron saint.
