Glottertal Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale over a 6-fold mount Sable issuant from base, at dexter Argent a Scots pine Vert, at sinister Azure a cleaver Argent.
Meaning:
Glottertal was established on 1 January 1970 by a merger of Föhrental, Oberglottertal, Unterglottertal and Ohrensbach. The pine (German: Föhre) is a canting element and had been in local seals of Föhrental since 1850 and in its arms since 1903. The cleaver had been in the local seals of Ohrensbach since the 19th century. The mount (German: Sechsberg) had been in the arms of Ohrensbach, Ober - and Unterglottertal since 1895. The mount is taken from the arms of the Lords of Schwarzenberg and alluding to the fact that the valley historically belonged to their lordship.
