Bad Rodach Coat of Arms

Shield Or, a lion rampant Sable, armed and tongued Gules.
Meaning:
The oldest evidence is given by a seal, displaying the lion with a circumscription "Rotha". It was probably made shortly after the city was acquired by the Wettin kin from the Counts of Henneberg. The shape of the lion's tail is typical for the arms of the Margraves of Meißen. The tinctures of the margraves were fixed in the arms of Rodach by the local council in 1814.
