Description of the Flag

A white pall on a green field, red triangle toward the hoist, with three gold stars on the fly end of the pall.

The flag and arms of Forquilhinha are prescribed by Municipal Law No. 111 promulgated on 26 August 1991.

Article 2.
The flag of the municipality is composed of the green and red colors, separated by a stylized white fork ["forquilha"] charged with three yellow stars outlined in black.
§1. Green represents the soil's resource and agriculture.
§2. Red suggests people's dynamism and progressivist spirit.
§3. The fork, as a symbolic image, represents convergence and union of forces.
§4. White expresses the union of the community of Forquilhinha in search of common goals.
§5. The three stars recall the three nations responsible of the colonization.

Article 3.
The flag of the municipality of Forquilhinha shall have the following dimensions.
a) Flag's total area: 11,100 cm2 = 150 cm x 74 cm
b) Greater side of the green part: 123 cm
c) Vertix of the yellow triangle: 57 cm
d) Star's diameter: 12 cm
e) Distance between stars: 3 cm
f) Star's black outline: 0.4 cm
g) Width of the white stripe: 15 cm.
The colors of the flag shall be the following.
a) Flag green
b) Scarlet red
c) Lime yellow
d) White
e) Black

Article 4.
The coat of arms of Forquilhinha is composed of a shield surmounted by four towers; in its lower part, a gray scroll and, on the sides, maize and rice plants that symbolize the region's typical crops.
§1. The gray towers are a symbol of liberty, union, work and progress.
§2. In the shield's base, crossing the green of agriculture, a blue fork.
§3. In the shield's center, red, suggesting dynamism, is represented the industrial force through a smoking chimney superimposed with a cogwheel.
§4. The white scroll is inscribed with the municipality's name and date of administrative emancipation.
§5. The colors of the arms shall be the following.
a) Light gray
b) Leaf green
c) Cyan blue
d) Lime yellow
e) Scarlet red
f) White
g) Black
