About the Flag

The municipality of Santa Isabel do Ivaí (8,760 inhabitants in 2010; 34,950 ha) is located 600 km north-west of Curitiba.

The flag and arms of Santa Isabel do Ivaí are prescribed by Municipal Law No. 49 promulgated in 1973.

The flag is white with a broad blue diagonal stripe running from upper hoist to lower fly.
Blue represents the sky, pure water of river Ivaí, and commerce.
White represents peace and people's purity.
The coat of arms in the center of the flag represents the municipality's spiritual resources.

The shield's left part represents agriculture and cattle-breeding and features a map of the municipality. The shield's right part represents education and culture through their symbols, a terrestrial globe, a book and a pencil. The central part symbolizes faith and religion through a handshake holding the Eucharist chalice.
Blue and white symbolize peace, the sky, and commerce. Green symbolizes the natural environment. Yellow represents the soil's resources.
The shield is surmounted by a five-towered mural crown argent symbolizing the edification of the town.
The shield is supported left by a coffee branch, symbol of perennial agriculture, and right by a rice plant, symbol of annual agriculture.
