The seal depicts the the oldham theater among a cloudy scene. Under the theater is the city name with the "p" being replaced with an inverted guitar. Under the name are hills with a lake, and at the tip of the guitar are floralistic curves and dots coming from it. At the bottom is a banner which says "Bluegrass USA," which refers to the area fame for the bluegrass singers that came from the city.
