In the Staff Report regarding the resolution adopted by the Blaine city
council on January 4, 2024, the background of the new flag is described as
follows: "In 2022, staff worked to redesign the city flag. The previous flag had
an old city logo and color scheme. The redesigned flag was shared with the
council for feedback. After receiving no initial feedback, the new flag was
ordered. Staff and council agreed to fly the new flag starting in late 2022. Now
that the new flag has been integrated into City business, the flag should be
officially adopted by the City Council."
