 The flag for the village of Riverdale, Illinois, shows the village seal 
centered on a white field. The seal contains olive-colored garlands, a blue 
ribbon with the village motto, "A village with a vision", the word Riverdale, 
and a tree, all superimposed on a red silhouette of Illinois on a deeply 
saturated ocean water background. The outer circle of the seal reads "SEAL OF 
THE VILLAGE OF RIVERDALE ILLINOIS" and "December 28, 1892".
Riverdale is 
located in Cook County, and directly borders Chicago to the south. As of the 
2020 census, it was 3.75 square miles (9.71 sq km) in size and had a population 
of 10,663.
