The flag of Terme (photo, no longer online) is white with the municipality's emblem. "Belediyesi" means "Municipality". The emblem features two groups of three hazelnuts.
Hazelnut is one of the most important nut crops in the world and has its
origins in the center of Anatolia. Wild species are found in Anatolia
which have provided the source for today's cultivated varieties.
Turkey is the first world hazelnut producer and exporter. In addition,
it covers approximately 70% and 82% of the world`s production and export
respectively. While Turkey's average in shell production is 350-400 000
t, this value has reached up to 500 000 t in recent years.

According to Ottoman records, hazelnut was cleared through customs and
exported from Ottoman territories to a foreign country (an European
country) for the first time by merchants of Terme.
A hazelnut processing machine was invented by Aslan Akdoğan and Mustafa
Şahane, two industrialists from Terme. Hazelnut processing machines that
are currently manufactured in Turkey are inventions of the Terme
industrialists.

Termespor was established in 1953. The club finished the 2015-2016 season at the 12th rank in Group 4 of the top amateur league and was relegated to the Samsun regional amateur league.
The flag of Termespor (photo, photo) is yellow with a black horizontal stripe and the club's emblem in the center.
