Shield Azure a bar wavy Argent charged with a barrulet wavy Azure, in chief a pair of keys crossed per saltire, the bendy one Or and the sinister bendy one Argent, in base a lyre Or. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "BARROSELAS".
Meaning:
The crossed keys are an attribute of St. Peter, the local patron saint.

Barroselas Commune was one of the pre-2013 communes of Viana do Castelo Municipality (q.v.); it had 3927 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 7.5 km².

Meaning:
Disc and cross are displaying the emblem of the Benedictine Order.
