Vila Nova de São Bento Commune, the former Aldeia Nova de São Bento, was one of the pre-2013 communes of Serpa Municipality (q.v.); it had 3072 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 241.69 km².

Shield Or, base wavy of Azure and Argent, in centre an olive tree eradicated Vert fruited Sable between two sparrows statant Sable garnished Argent each with a wheat ear Vert in his beak, in central chief a red rounded cross patty Gules. Mural crown with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black capitals: "VALE DE VARGO".

Vale de Vargo Commune was one of the pre-2013 communes of Serpa Municipality (q.v.); it had 968 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 57.92 km².
