Shield Vert, in base a bar wavy Argent charged with a barrulet wavy Azure, issuant from bar a modern bridge Argent, a tortoise (a disc Gules) surrounded by an aureole Or and charged with a fleur-de-lis Or, flanked in chief by a watermill wheel Argent at dexter and two corn cobs Or in saltire at sinister. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "FOZ DO SOUSA E COVELO".
Meaning:
Tortoise, millwheel and bar wavy are taken from the arms of former Covelo commune, bridge and corn cobs from the arms of former Foz do Sousa commune.

Foz do Sousa e Covelo United Commune was formed by a merger in 2013; its communes together had 7701 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 30.3 km².

Meaning:
Fleur-de-lis and aureole are attributes of St. Mary, the local patron saint.
