Sejny - rural commune, Sejny County, Podlaskie Voivodship - Lithuanian name: Seinu valsčius (Sejny commune)
Gmina Sejny is a rural commune in Sejny County, Podlaskie Voivodeship, in north-eastern Poland, on the Lithuanian border. Its seat is the town of Sejny, although the town is not part of the territory of the commune.
Area: 218.01 sq.km (84.2 sq.mi); Population: 4,106 (2006); Land under cultivation - 67%; forests - 27%.

Established as the hunting estate of Prince Dymitr Wiśniowiecki in 1522 on the land given to him by King Sigismund I the Old (Zygmunt Stary).
There is a significant minority of Lithuanians and Russian Old-Believers in the commune.
Arms and flag adopted on September 2, 2005 (resolution # XXXVII/157/05).
"Arms - on a red field a white Red Deer standing to the right. In the upper right corner a "gozdawa" (double lily).
Flag - red rectangle in the ratio 5:8 with a white horizontal band of 3/5 of the width of the flag carrying the Arms in the middle."
