According to the municipal website, the municipal symbols have been designed and
created by citizens from Nueva Guinea.
The flag was designed by Joset Aguilar. The shield was designed by José René
Hurtado Pai. The municipal logotype was designed by Bismark Jarquín Bracamonte.
The symbols were created through an open competition organized by the municipal
government under the administration of Denis Obando.
The flag is horizontally divided blue, white, green, with the shield at the
center of the white stripe.
