No Flag

The council informed me they do not use a municipal flag.

No Coat of Arms

image from Facebook

The council informed me it symbols have been designed by the current administration; so clearly it uses no coat of arms. However, the 2018-2021 council did use one. It depicted, to its sides, mantling. Above the shield is a stone bridge, a local icon. Its yellow border reads "JLEKU'MTASTIK XLUXLEJAL JLUMALTIIK", meaning "Let us take care of the well-being of our people", in the Tzeltal language. The inner area depicts three sections; the upper-left section depicts a native Tzeltal woman, the upper-right depicts symbols of the local economy (fruticulture and coffee harvesting), and the lower section depicts a bee hive for apiculture.
