Official colours: blue - Pantone 285C, green - Pantone 356C
The blue color of the flag symbolizes the Daugava River, the sky, the water.
White color symbolizes spirituality, peace, protection, security, trust, honesty
and order. The white band can be interpreted as the dam of the reservoir, and a
highway. The green color of nature, fertility, health and abundance, it
symbolizes peace, youth, growth and harmony.
Municipal flag design echoes the national flag of Latvia, as well as ethnic
blue-white-green flag of
Livonians, symbolizing the sea, sandy
beaches and forests.
