The town emblem was adopted in Sep 1962 but there is no flag law. The blue flag has a white town emblem in the center. The emblem is a stylized kanji 南 Minami of Minamitane on a pigeon as a symbol of a peace. It represents the town which is flying in a giant sky and makes a leap forward.
