The city emblem was adopted on May 5th 1960 by Notice No 12 but there is no flag law. The white flag has a red city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a stylized kanji 安 of Anjo. The folding fan-shape at the bottom part symbolizes the city’s progress and the circle does a peace and a concord.
