The village emblem was adopted on Oct 19th 1989 but there is no flag law. The blue flag has a white village emblem in the center. The village emblem is a stylized katakana シ Shi of shimojo in a form  of a bird flying to a giant sky. The inner circle symbolizes the villagers' conformity and the Sun. As a whole, it represents an image of the village making a leap  for the future without limit.
