The (Iraqi) "مديرية الدفاع المدني" (English: Iraqi Civil Defense Directorate,
ICDD), formally "مديرية الدفاع المدني العامة" (English: General Directorate of
Civil Defense) is dependent on the Ministry of Interior
and it is in charge of civil protection, including fire and rescue operations.
It was established by the Civil Defense Law No. 44 of 2013 enacted on October 27
and published on November 11 of the same year.
