The municipality of Istiaia-Aidipsos (21,083 inhabitants in 2011; 50,590 ha) was established in the 2011 local government reform as the merger of the former municipalities of Aidipsos (Αιδηψός, 6,141 inh.), Artemisio (Αρτεμίσιο, 4,167 inh.), Istiaia (Ιστιαία, 7,091 inh.), Lichada (Λιχάδα, 1,140 inh.), and Oreoi (Ωρεοί3,017 inh.).

Last July the Municipal Council of Istiea Edipsos took a decision: https://diavgeia.gov.gr/doc about the emblem and the flag of the municipality. It's only the second time I've ever seen such a decision about the flag and not just the emblem of a Greek municipality. And just for the detailed description of this flag I must say wow…
Proportions ~3:5. Colours orange (RGB: Red 237, Green 125, Blue 49) and light
blue (RGB: Red 85, Green 151, Blue 211). The font used is Calibri Light. The
emblem-logo is an abstract rendering of the Nymphe Istiea, as depicted on the
reverse side of ancient Istiea's coins that were in circulation between 4th and
1st centuries B.C. Nymphe Istiea is depicted sitting on a ship's stern holding a
small trophy pillar, probably in commemoration of a victory at sea. Nymphe
Istiea is also used as an emblem by the neighboring Municipality of
Mantoudi-Limni-Agia Anna:

The former municipality of Aidipsos is a popular tourist destination, having 80 of Greece's 752 hot springs.
The flag of the municipality (Kokkonis website) was white with the municipality emblem, charged with the municipality's name and the date "2003".
The emblem was probably used for the first time back in the 1880s. It represents Hercules holding a bat and two hot springs emitting vapors.

Istiaia is mentioned in the Iliad by the ancient Greek poet Homer for its rich vineyards.
The flag of the municipality (Kokkonis website) was white with the municipal emblem.
The emblem features the nymph Histiaia as shown on ancient coins, seated upon the stern of a galley (photos).
