Shield Argent, a grapevine Azure with a vine leaf Vert, in base a bar wavy Azure.
Meaning:
The municipality, having the rank of a market town since 1571, merged with the municipalities of Leopoldshöhe, Friedlingen and Otterbach in 1929 and was since then called a city, but the city rank was gained later in 1935. Villages seals of the village or market town are not known until the 19th century. The town then used a seal displaying a grapevine, surrounded by a wreath. The tincture was fixed as blue in 1929 and two green leaves were added. The symbols are symbolising viticulture. The arms then had a red mural crown. The pattern was simplified in 1962 and the bar wavy was added, symbolising the Rhine.
