The flag of the City of Revelstoke, British Columbia, is white with city 
emblem specially designed for the flag. It shows a grizzly bear in brown 
standing on a brick foundation with greenery around, and a shield with previous 
logo of the City of Revelstoke which also was developed by a public contest in 
1971. The designer was Dave Williams. This logo was a requirement to be included 
in the City's contest for an official flag. On the bottom a blue ribbon with two 
flowers on the ends and "REVELSTOKE" in white. The flag was chosen through a

"Revelstoke (population 7,500 municipal est. 2005) is a city in southeastern 
British Columbia, Canada. It is located 641 kilometers (398 miles) east of 
Vancouver, and 415 kilometers (258 miles) west of Calgary, Alberta. The city is 
situated on the banks of the Columbia River just south of the Revelstoke Dam and 
near its confluence with the Illecillewaet River. East of Revelstoke are the 
Selkirk Mountains and Glacier National Park, penetrated by Rogers Pass used by 
the Trans-Canada Highway and the Canadian Pacific Railway. South of the 
community down the Columbia River are the Arrow Lakes and the road to the 
Kootenays. West of the city is Eagle Pass through the Monashee Mountains and the

The summit of Mount Revelstoke is featured in the upper loop portion of the
capital "R"
The date 1899 was the year when this community was incorporated.
Two official provincial flowers of British Columbia, the Pacific dogwood, are
represented on a blue ribbon along with the name of the community.
