The flag of Nova Erechim is prescribed by Municipal Law No. 280 promulgated
on 26 June 1979.
Article 1.
The municipal flag has the following
heraldic description: Composed of two fields, the upper, green, and the lower,
yellow, arranged horizontally. In the flag's center, the coat of arms of the
municipality placed on a white circle.
Article 2.
The coat of arms of
the municipality, prescribed by Law No. 279 promulgated on 26 June 1979, is
placed in the center of a white circle.
Article 3.
The features of the
municipal flag obey the following measurements.
I - The size shall be 1.30 m
in length on 0.90 cm in width.
II - The circle shall be 49 cm in width.

coat of arms of the municipality has the following blazon and additional
description: Iberian shield, in upper canton a stylized white plow on a green
background, in central canton, a handshake on a yellow background; in lower
canton, a stylized sun on a green background. A yellow mural crown filled in
red. The word "Novo Erechim" on a red scroll, also inscribed date
"28-12-1.1964".
