There exists a description of the flag:
"A Bandeira municipal é composta
das cores, branco, azul e com um triangulo verde à esquerda.
- A faixa azul
central onde o escudo é aplicado, simboliza à própria cidade, sede do Município
e o Brasão representa o governo municipal. Em heráldica (Ciência dos brasões;
Conjunto dos emblemas do brasão) essa cor simboliza serenidade e harmonia.

O branco é símbolo universal da paz."

"The municipal flag is composed by the colors, white, and blue with
a green triangle on the left.
- The blue stripe where the coat of arms is
applied, symbolizes the city itself, and the coat of arms represents the
municipal government. In heraldry that color symbolizes serenity and harmony (I
assume that they refer to the blue color).
- White is the universal symbol of
peace.
