The Sheboygan Yacht Club is situated in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, with Lake
Michigan as its home waters. The first try at establishing a yacht club in
Sheboygan stems from 1887, but by 1916 it has quietly disappeared.
In
1931 a new yacht club was formed, from Depression Times acquisitions. This time
the yachting hobby stayed around, and over time it came to include not only the
first three yachts needing an anchorage, but also place for over 50 others
yacht. Sea Scouts found a home their, as did a youth sailing club, and now even
a U.S. Sailing Center. Through all this, and through being a welcoming place to
be, the club also regularly welcomed national events.
I have not found
anything about the club's burgee. It is there, though I had to be moved over to
Team One, Newport, to find an example image. Nothing is said about it, though.
An easy guess would state that 'S' is for 'Sheboygan'. What the barrulet stands
for, on the other hand, I have no idea.
Other than that, the club uses
the common flags for Commodore, 'Vice Commodore', Rear Commodore, Treasurer, and
Secretaries.

The Sheboygan Polar Bear Club is a U.S. recreational sports group which
promotes yearly a January 1st communal lake-bathing event, the Sheboygan Polar
Plunge, in the shores of nearby Lake Michigan.
Its flag is ~3:4 light
blue with its logo centered on it surrounded by large lettering. This flag
(which may exist in several copies, I could not ascertain either way) is brought
to the annual event hoisted on a large handheld staff (apparently, a curtain
rod), onto which a thermometer is affixed. In the off season this flag is likely
kept on indoor display, as it is fitted with metal eyelets on its flyside
corners.
The logo consists of a white disc containing a black linedraw
cartoon of a polar bear wearing sunglasses and sitting on an ice floe holding a
forked penannt, also light blue (the only non-black-and-white element of this
logo) that reads in crude black handwriting "It’s not COLD enough!", the latter
word on a 2nd text line.
On the flag, the logo takes the center, its
diameter only about half of the flag’s height, with the inscription "Sheboygan"
above and "Polar Bear Club" below, both arched inwards and set in large bold
compact black serifless capitals.
