The previous flag was the University seal on a blue/white/red/white/blue where the blue and white equal the red section (the blue is about 90% and the white 10%) with the university seal outlined in white.

University of Arkansas - Fort Smith - "The University of Arkansas–Fort Smith (UAFS) is a four-year, public university in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Part of the University of Arkansas System, UAFS is the sixth-largest university in Arkansas with a fall 2020 enrollment of approximately 6,500 students. The university campus occupies 168 acres (0.68 km2) of an arboretum that has 1,182 GPS-inventoried trees representing 81 species.
