About the flag:
"Shawnee, Kansas, flag is a white flag that has the City Seal in blue in the middle. The seal has the words "City of Shawnee" and the founding date of 1856. According to this VAKC page, Shawnee is moving from its logo flag to a seal
flag. The city appears to have used both flags for a long time.

It seems that Shawnee, Kansas is using another flag at their city offices. From looking at this Reddit post, (https://www.reddit.com/r/shawnee/comments/1ua2n9b/americana_ales_stage_on_saturday/#lightbox) and also seeing from the official website of the city (https://www.cityofshawnee.org/ImageRepository/Document?documentID=1157), it shows a white flag and a logo that was designed in 2023 (https://johnsoncountypost.com/2023/01/19/new-shawnee-city-logo-questions-191861/), t also lists a Kansas City firm CruxKC as the designer for this logo.

The previous logo flag was designed by North Star Ideas, but I don't have a date handy of when it was created.

That old logo by North Star has been around since 2009, and the flag with that logo was used since at least 2012 (but maybe since 2009) until 2023. The city is still using the seal flag as well. What's flown outside seems to vary between the seal flag and the new logo flag.
The photos on the North Star page for the old logo are all dated 2019. https://northstarideas.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/logo_0006_shawnee-ks.png
The tree logo is dated 2012 on Shawnee's Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=10152108235647316&set=a.226923032793308
This logo guide is probably dated May 1, 2012. https://www.yumpu.com/en/document/view/18723884/graphic-standards-city-of-shawnee
