The municipality of Sopot (20,199 inhabitants in 2011, 1,887 in the town of Sopot; 27,100 ha) is located 60 km south of Belgrade downtown.

The logo features the monument to the fallen soldiers of the Kosmaj partisan detachment. Designed by architect Gradimir Medaković and sculptor Vojin Stojić, the monument is a "spomenik", the generic name of abstract memorials built in Tito's Republic of Yugoslavia between 1960 and 1990.

The monument is dedicated to Kosmaj partisans and fighters from the Posavina (Sava River) region who died during the National Liberation War (World War II). The monument was inaugurated on 2 July 1971 to mark the 30th anniversary of the unit’s formation. The words on the plaque translate as follows;
“On July 2, 1941, the Kosmaj-Posavina Partisan detachment was formed at this place. At the end of July, two new Kosmajski and Posavski were formed from this detachment. During all four years of the war, the libertarian rifle did not stop firing here at the gates of Belgrade. 5,820 fighters and partisan associates fell for freedom, including 3,411 young men and women. Sixteen fighters were declared national heroes.”
