Located in Setagaya City Tokyo and established in 1949. The embroidered ceremonial flag has sky blue background with a gold and silver emblem in gold fringe. The university flag has sky blue background with a white emblem. (Source) The university emblem is the national flower, the cherry blossom, with five petals, each with three stamens. In it is depicted the "Mirror of Yata " (one of the three sacred objects, said to be a reflection of Amaterasu's own image), a symbol of the ancient traditions of Japan, and the determination to nurture women worthy of representing Japan. The kanji word 昭和 "Showa" is inscribed within it.
