The city emblem and the flag were adopted on Oct 1st 2005 by Notice No 66 and No 67. The green flag has a white city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a stylized Y of Yanai in a form of willow leaves. The circle represents a water well, the people, the sea and lithely developing city.
The flag proportion is 2: 3. The diameter of the emblem is 3/5 the height of the flag.
