The city emblem was adopted on Feb 11th 2005 by Notice No 1 but there is no
flag law. The white flag has a red, green and blue three color city emblem in
the center. The city emblem is a combination of stylized kanji 近 O of Omi and
English e East = Higashi. The green color stands for an abundant nature, the
blue color for a fresh stream and the circumstances, the red color for a vigor.
As a whole, it represents the city’s future vision which has richness, harmony,
development, growth, combination and interchange.
