Pliva d.o.o. is a Croatian pharmaceutical company based in Zagreb. The
company was founded in 1921 in Kaštel near Karlovac. During the Banovina of
Croatia, Kaštel was associated with Plibah, which is an abbreviation of the
initial letters Proizvodnja lijekova
Banovine Hrvatske (Production of Medicines of the
Banovina of Croatia). By gradually expanding production to basic raw materials
and vaccines, the factory gets its permanent name Pliva, composed of the initial
letters: Proizvodnja lijekova i vakcina
(Production of drugs and vaccines).
The flag of company is blue or white
with logo.
