Hornet Services Sailing Club.
23 May 1964. Established as Hornet Sailing 
Club, at former HMS Hornet, Coastal Forces Base, Gosport, Portsmouth.
Initially membership was restricted to those who had been members of the Royal 
Naval Sailing Association for at least two years.
Burgee: white/blue; fly 
side of white hoist panel is a shallow angle pointing towards the tip of the 
burgee. On the white panel, a red naval crown above the side view of a black and 
yellow hornet, facing the hoist.
1972. Joint Services Sailing Centre 
formed and based at Hornet.
April 2013. Name of club changed to Hornet 
Services Sailing Club with membership open to personnel from all three Armed 
Forces, their veterans and their families.
30 May 2014. Warrant for plain 
Blue Ensign signed by Secretary of State for Defence.
