The municipality of Almendros (394 inhabitants in 2018; 6,290 ha) is located 90 km west of Cuenca.

The flag and arms of Almendros are prescribed by Decree No. 25, issued
on 8 March 1988 by the Government of Castilla-La Mancha and published on
15 March 1988 in the official gazette of Castilla-La Mancha, No. 11, p. 599 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:
Flag: Panel vertically divided in the middle, green and white with an almond tree. The reverse is charged in the center with the coat of arms of the municipality.
Coat of arms: Per pale, 1. Or a Latin cross sable standing on three steps surmounted by the anagram of Our Lady in letters azure, 2. Argent two almond trees vert in pale. The shield surmounted by a Royal crown closed.
The Royal Academy approved the proposed symbols, suggesting some
modifications.
The arms, already used in a non-heraldic design and inadequately
surmounted by a helmet, recall that Almendros belonged to the Order of
Saint James and that the Holy Cross is the patron saint of the parish
church. The Academy recommended to change the steps' color from gules to
sable and to remove the five roundels argent placed on the cross, for
the sake of clarity.
The flag is based on the canting arms (almendros, "almond trees"). The
Academy recommended to suppress the second, white almond tree from the
white field.
