Description of current flag:
The flag's ratio is 3:5. It is a red - white -red vertical triband with ratio 1:2:1. The coat of arms is in the centre of the white stripe.

Description of coat of arms:
In a red field are four silver (= white) horizontal wedges and three blue arrowheads ordered sinister bendily.
Meaning:
According to source the arms shows a combination of the arms of the local gentry families of von Kerberg (wedges) and von Retzow (arrowheads). The tinctures were kept but the positions were modified.

The flag was approved by minister of interior of Mecklenburg-Westpomerania on 20 November 2007 and the coat of arms on 5 November 1990, published in the roll of arms of Mecklenburg-Westpomerania as no. 0001.
