"The Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-city (SSTEC, simplified Chinese: 中新天津生态城;
traditional Chinese: 中新天津生態城; pinyin: Zhōng-Xīn Tiānjīn Shēngtài Chéng) is the
result of a collaborative agreement between the governments of China and
Singapore to jointly develop a socially harmonious, environmentally friendly and
resource-conserving city in China. The initiative started in 2007: on November
18, 2007, Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Chinese Premier Wen
Jiabao signed a Framework Agreement for Singapore and China to jointly develop
Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-city. It is being developed by the Sino-Singapore
Tianjin Eco-City Investment and Development Co., Ltd (official website:
http://www.tianjineco-city.com)"
The Eco-city site is located 40 km from the Tianjin city centre and 150 km
from Beijing. The site is 10 km from the core district of the Tianjin Binhai New
Area (TBNA), with the southern tip of the site only a 10-minute drive from the
Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area (TEDA). When fully developed in
the early-to-mid 2020s, the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-city will be home to
about 350,000 residents"

The logo was designed by Dongdao Design and its description is as follows: "The
logo is like a flower with 6 green petals, symbolizing the vigorous life and
cooperation of China and Singapore. The colors of the logo gradually change from
yellow to green, from the inside to the outside, creating a vivid image of the
city. We created supplementary graphics based on this design idea and applied it
to the space and signage
design." (source:

Other variants are the same logo, in white, over blue, orange and green variants
