The logo shows the city name with a ray of bolts above it. The ray is made of yellow bolts with an increase in thickness in a clockwise format. Under the name is the city's official nickname "The Electric City. The nickname was coined after a hydropower plant was crafted in 1895. Anderson was one of the first in the southern United States to produce electricity and the first to supply cotton gin via electricity.
