Description

Flag of the European Action is blue, with a cross potent within a ring, all in yellow. It might seem to be an unusual choice for an organization which opposes the European Union; however, these colors had been introduced by the Council of Europe long before the European Union adopted them, and that organization still includes many more countries than the European Union, so they are probably considered a well-established symbol of Europe as a whole, in accordance with the organization's self-describing as an all-European one. The symbol might be inspired by the one used by the Fatherland Front, ruling party of the pre-1938 Austria even though it was much the opposite of European Action, with its anti-Nazi attitude and opposition to the idea of Anschluss, which the EA seems to wish to repeat, masked as the calls for "self-determination of Germans."

Photos of the flag use in Germany can be found here, here, here, and here. Photos of its use in Austria are here and here. A photo from a meeting in Switzerland, with presence of the members from Liechtenstein (who brought their naional flag), displaying only the logo of the organization, but no flag, can be seen here.

About the organization

European Action (Europaeische Aktion; EA) is an international extreme right-wing organization which is active mainly in Germany, as well as in Austria, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein, but also claims to have some members in several other countries. It promotes historical revisionism and Holocaust denial in the name of freedom of speech, calls for the repatriation of all non-European immigrants, dissolution of the European Union, which sould be replaced by a confederation of fully sovereign countries (in the first place, no common value like the euro) and defence of "traditional" way of life against the "decandece" (which mainly means the anit-LGBT activities).

The European Action (EA) is an umbrella organization of European Holocaust deniers and right-wing extremists. According to information from the country leads, the EA are active in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. In Liechtenstein, the UK, and France, there are offices or information offices. In addition, contacts were held to comrades in countries such as Hungary, Bulgaria, Belarus, Spain, and Sweden. The EA was founded around 2008/2009 in Switzerland by Holocaust denier Bernhard Schaub. The aim is the creation of a European Confederation, represented in the strong national states a common foreign and defense policy and otherwise largely act independently.

This organization tends to be an international organization.
