    It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain green field.

    Coat of arms

    Shield Or, an eradicated pine tree Vert with seven pine cones Or; in chief a bar wavy Azure, charged with a barrulet wavy Argent Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "ALVITO DA BEIRA".
    Meaning:
    The pine tree is representing the local business lines, especially the predominant branch of forestry. The cones are representing the seven settlements forming the commune: Alvito da Beira, Sobrainho dos Gaios, Cerejeira, Vales, Dápera, Herdade e Mó. The bar wavy is representing the local riches of water, being the base of the fertility of the soil, among those especially the Ribeira do Alvito is of importance.

    It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain yellow and blue quartered field.

    The arms are Azure fretty Or, a cork oak Vert eradicated, in base wavy Argent two barrulets wavy Azure. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "SOBREIRA FORMOSA".
    Meaning:
    The name of the commune means "pretty oak". The oak is thus a canting element.
